Cookies Policy

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files stored by a website or service in your browser. Similar technologies include local storage, pixels and device identifiers. They can help a website function, remember a choice, protect against abuse or understand whether embedded content is working.

2. Technologies used on this website

Strictly necessary and security technologies. Our hosting, content-delivery, security and administrative authentication services may use cookies or similar technologies to route requests, maintain security, prevent abuse, verify authorised administrators and keep the website available. These technologies are necessary for services you request or for the website’s secure operation.

Petition and human verification. The petition uses a short-lived, database-backed human-verification challenge and duplicate-signature controls. The website does not need to place an advertising cookie to count your signature.

Embedded YouTube videos. Videos are embedded using YouTube’s privacy-enhanced domain. YouTube may still receive technical information and may place or access cookies or similar storage when you play or otherwise interact with a video. YouTube’s own privacy and cookie terms govern that processing.

Administration. Restricted campaign-administration pages may rely on authentication technologies supplied by the hosting platform. These are used to confirm that an administrator is authorised and to protect campaign records.

3. No behavioural advertising cookies

We do not currently use cookies to build advertising profiles, sell personal information or serve behavioural advertising. If the campaign later introduces optional analytics, advertising or other non-essential technologies, this policy and any consent controls will be updated before those technologies are used where consent is required.

4. Third-party websites and sharing

If you follow a link to a news outlet, research body, social network or another website, that third party may use its own cookies. If you choose to share the appeal using your device or a social platform, your interaction is governed by that service’s policies. We do not control cookies placed directly by independent third-party websites.

5. Managing cookies

You can use your browser settings to view, block or delete cookies and clear local storage. Blocking strictly necessary technologies may prevent parts of the website, embedded media or protected administration from working correctly. You can avoid YouTube-related storage by not playing embedded videos and instead reviewing the surrounding written content.

6. Do Not Track and similar signals

Browser privacy signals are not interpreted consistently across the internet. Because we do not currently use behavioural advertising cookies, the website does not offer a separate advertising opt-out. We will review recognised privacy signals if our use of non-essential technologies changes.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookies Policy when our technology or legal obligations change. The revised version will be published here with an updated effective date.
